I finally finished the series yesterday, and I know only -Head(+)Shot- and maybe Sniper would join me in this conversation, but I just want to say a few things. If you have not finished season 5, and don't want spoilers, don't continue... So season 5 for me was fantastic, but it felt very, very unfinished. In the beginning of the season, they were finishing up all the loose ends, the Replicators (Ausurans), Ronon's Satedan friend's the Wraith Worshippers, Michael the Wraith, and the cure for the Wraith (kinda). Now they created new problems that need solving, such as the other runner (like Ronon Dex), the thief that switch bodies with Dr. Keller, and most importantly, the renegade (and I beg you stop here now unless you want a real spoiler) Asgard that drifted from their SG-1 counterparts (who committed mass suicide as their race was dying), and were trying to prolong their lives. Let's not forget the finale where Atlantis landed on Earth. Maybe they recalled all of their teams from the Pegasus Galaxy, but they have unfinished business over there. Teyla's people, Ronon's desire to kill all the Wraith. Not to mention, what the hell happens to Todd the Wraith? He's a security risk for Earth to keep him there, the ZPM is depleted so they can't send him back to the Pegasus Galaxy, and even if they could, he knows where Earth is. And now Atlantis has the primary gate which only gates to the Pegasus gates. I heard they are making Atlantis movies (like the SG-1 movies which wrapped up the Ori story arc, haven't watched them yet though). So maybe there will be answers, but still, it seems bad. I did love the episode "The Shrine" in where Rodney McKay has a bug in his brain making him forgetful. It reminded me of "Lifeboat" from SG-1 where Daniel Jackson has a dozen alien entities living in his body. Excellent acting. David Hewlett is almost an excellent actor as Michael Shanks. |

I cried like a baby when Josh chose that girl he just met over his dog. He was always there for you, Josh! How could you just let him go? WHY?!?!?! |

I actually haven't seen much of SG Atlantis. Someone keeps reminding me that I absolutely NEED to. |
Only in America is there BS.

I don't really give a **** about Galactica. Season 4 has been such a disappointment. I'll eventually finish it, but BSG just has been so awful. |

I have a question, WHY did they cancel Atlantis all of a sudden? It still had alot of potential. Very mad. The new stargate niverse looks retarded. |

I don't know, but they are making a movie just as they made the two SG1 movies. |

I heard they canceled it so they could focus on SGU. SGU better be damned good, because Atlantis was going strong (much better than SG-1 in it's final season). SG-1 had it coming after a near decade, but SGA's number wasn't up yet, IMO. I hope they have a good cast lined up for SGU, because it's got a lot to live up to, between SG-1's and SGA's two stellar casts. I also hope they go back to the independent episode approach of the earlier seasons of SG-1 (and like Star Trek), with each episode being accessible in and of itself, but also contributing to an overarching storyline. Lost and 24 have strengths in the episode-to-episode format, but if you miss one, it's a headache to catch up (one of the reasons I kinda gave up on Lost and BSG). A good enemy is also critical, and there's big shoes to fill there too between the Wraith and the Goa'uld (don't mention the Ori, they just weren't as cool). A nice, powerful enemy that just eclipses us in power, like the Wraith and Goa'uld seemed early on (or even the Borg). All this stuff makes for some quality entertainment IMO. |
