Here is a fairly large rumor. :P

Microsoft is apparently looking to acquire one of the largest publishers the video game industry, Electronic Arts. The rumor comes from Reuters, meaning that there very well may be talks between Microsoft and Electronic Arts.

I don't think I even need to say it, but it would be HUGE if Electronic Arts would suddenly become a first-party developer for one specific console. Here is a little list of some of EA's biggest franchises that would presumably only appear on the Xbox 360 should EA become a part of Microsoft:

- Madden NFL
- Rock Band
- Battlefield
- The Sims
- Burnout
- Crysis
- Medal of Honor

Sony and Nintendo will be paying attention to this. :D

Update: EA stocks went up 8% based on this rumor. :P

Hmmm.... seems like a large microsoft conspiracy is forming. There was rumor recently that Sony were splitting with Activision..... EA and Activision not making games for the PS3 would be a major blow for Sony

I don't think Activision would ever stop making games for the PS3, I think they are just frustrated by how they have to put money into a PS3 version of a game that may do really well, may break even, or may be a flop. Meanwhile, every Activision game seems to sell very well on the Xbox 360.

Welcome to the forums. :embarrassed:

The only way to keep games exclusive now to systems is if the makers are owned by either giant.
