If you are still playing your Wii (making you a TRUE Nintendo fan) then you would probably agree that Sega is the best third-party publisher in the last handful of months. The Conduit, House of the Dead: Overkill, and MadWorld were some of the Wii's best games all year, and all were published by SEGA. However, the sales for all of those games were not pretty, and in some cases, abysmal. Which is making SEGA question whether they should continue publishing games specifically for Wii that are targeting a more mature audience.
Source There really isn't much to say about the Wii. The games just aren't there, and when a pretty good game does release, it gets pirated more than it sells. Nintendo does not know how to deal with third-party publishers AT ALL and it is completely evident here. It will be interesting to see what Nintendo does next-generation because I doubt they can duplicate the business success of the Wii. |

What are people going to think looking back on the Wii? All of the casual crowd stuff? Maybe, but not in a good way. The Virtual Console is the only thing commendable beyond a handful of good games. All this casual gamer stuff is just fluff and fog, and Nintendo's out there trying to catch it all with a net. |
