So, BioShock 2 released yesterday. I got it around 4PM yesterday and didn't stop playing until I beat it at around 11PM. It's pretty good, but definitely not as good as the first game. It's more about gun-fights and action than exploring Rapture this time. They made a lot of small tweaks to the game mechanics, too. Unfortunately, my Xbox Live gold membership expired so I haven't been able to try multi-player yet.

Has anyone else played BioShock 2 yet?

You say "Definitely not as good as the first game".

I'm curious to find out whether or not I agree with this, as I enjoyed the first game a lot.

I'll probably get my hands on the game in about a month or so.

Multiplayer should be a nice touch.

Whoops. The titles and ranks weren't tied together. That must have happened when we upgraded to Zetaboards or something. It's fixed now so you should be able to start threads.

Welcome to the forums. ;)

Wanting to get it right now. Should I play the first Bioshock before I even bother?

Many clans (like our past affiliate, the ODL) have been literally hacked and destroyed simply because of some stupid clan war. I wouldn't necessarily want to get into that, but we have to have some kind of WiFi action. I think inter-clan prevents most of that.

Glad to see that you're back. ;)

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes.

Yes.

The game doesn't waste five seconds trying to explain the setting at all. You'll be completely lost if you haven't played the first game.

Duly noted. I haven't been able to find a copy anywhere, so I think I'll just break down and get it on demand.

I see you've started playing BioShock. How amazed are you? :P

By the way, there are quite a bit of Easter Eggs in BioShock 2 that are worth pointing out. In the beginning when you are wandering around in the ocean, you can see the tail of Jack's plane from the first game on a cliff (screenshot) and in Father Wales' church there are pictures hanging around the walls that are all references to characters from BioShock 1. There is also the 9-Irony achievement, but it would spoil BioShock 1's story to go into that. ;)
